The Battle’s Over – A Nation’s Tribute
Marking 100 years since the signing of the Armistice, which signalled the end of the First World War conflict, Ashford Borough Council staged a series of events in commemoration.
The day saw two inspiring events across the town centre of Ashford.
In the morning was the annual service of remembrance. Due to the increase in numbers every year, the council tasked SA Events with the job of providing large format screens, video and sound so that every member of audience could be involved in this service.
In the evening was the national commemorative event; The Battles Over – A Nation’s Tribute. This revolved around the lighting of the civic beacon, as well as unveiling of the “piece de resistance”; a beautiful display of 3000 ceramic poppies.
SA Events were tasked with providing lighting; to create a beautiful site setting for this moving event.
